TVET Education Is Meant For Gifted And Brilliant Students Too'
The School Improvement Support Officer (SISO) for the Ateiku Circuit in the Wassa East District of Western Region, Mr. Patrick Kwasi Appiah, has disclosed that, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) education is actually meant for the gifted and brilliant students but not the low performing students as people assumed.
He said that there a lot of hollow misconceptions dusted around technical and vocational education that, it is only the dull students who attend TVET.
According to him, this is absolutely untrue.
Mr. Patrick Kwasi Appiah therefore appealed to parents and guardians to encourage their wards to select TVET schools when they are choosing SHSs because technical and vocational education is the only means to reduce unemployment in Ghana.
The Wassa East District Director of Ghana Education Service (GES), Mrs. Christiana Ernestina Winful also opined that, some parents refuse to take their children to SHS after the children have successfully passed their BECE due to financial constraints, this she said discourages the children and even the younger ones.
He urged parents and guardians to make advance preparations for their children's education before they complete JHS so that it wouldn't become a burden on them
