Tunisia opposition offices raided, leader detained

After its leader, Rached Ghannouchi, was detained, the opposition Ennahda party in Tunisia claimed that police had invaded its headquarters.

Since being kidnapped on Monday from his residence in Tunis, the former speaker of the National Assembly has been silent.

The autocratic Tunisian president Kais Saied's most recent detainee is Mr. Ghannouchi.

According to the interior ministry, prosecutors looking into "inciting statements" had ordered that Mr. Ghannouchi's home be searched and that he be hauled in for interrogation.

On charges relating to terrorism, he made an appearance in court at the end of February.
