Trouble for comedian Waris over his Quick Credit comedy sketch

For allegedly exploiting its name to produce an unrelated video skit that goes against what the company stands for, management of Quick Credit Investment Micro-Credit Limited has threatened to file a lawsuit against comic actor Comedian Waris.

Trouble for comedian Waris over his Quick Credit comedy sketch

The comedic actor, who was sporting a Quick Credit T-shirt, was shown threatening another actor with a cutlass in the viral video "Birthday Delivery Guy" to repay a purported debt.

On July 19, 2023, the corporation promptly responded claiming it had no participation with the comic's content and that it would not hesitate to take legal action against the comedian.

It further exhorted the general people to use its website to look up proper facts.

“Management of Quick Credit Investment and Micro-Credit Limited is appalled by this misrepresentation of its image and wishes to categorically state that this individual has no affiliation with Quick Credit Investment and Micro-Credit Investment Limited. The management of the company said it does not engage its brand in comic activities.

However, it seems that some Ghanaians may not actually be fans of Quick Credit Investment. On their official Facebook page, a few comments made in response to the aforementioned release didn't support them.

A follower, Adwoa Konadu wrote, “That is what ur workers are doing. He has observed them and he's also using it as a comedy skit”.

Tina Andy Hayes had this to say, “Your people they do more than this wai”.

Fiester Harrison, “What are u disassociating from this primitive and inhuman behavior your staff are doing to ur customers…. Hmmmm one day one day ….yooo”

Graphic Showbiz has confirmed that the comedian's social media profiles have erased the viral video that was shared a few days ago.

It is unclear whether this was done in response to the company's threat to take legal action.
