Blessed Dee’s on a winning spree

It is a big deal for up-and-coming rapper Blessed Dee to garner notice and win prizes because the Ghanaian music industry has frequently come under fire for 'drowning' numerous new talents.

Blessed Dee’s on a winning spree

When Tamale resident Blessed Dee won the Amana Radio Rap Competition in 2018, he became a newcomer to the music world.

He won the 3Music Awards Next Rated Act in 2021 and finished as the first runner-up at the Sagani TV Chop The Mic Competition in 2019.

The young man's recent string of triumphs has boosted his confidence. Songs like WhatsUp and One Star, both produced by TizzleBeats, Multi Socket (produced by Ojah Drums), and DeyBreak (produced by ZeebraBeats), among others, have helped him gain recognition in the five northern areas.

Blessed Dee's win as Rapper of the Year at this year's Northern Entertainment Awards (NEA), which were hosted at the Tamale GNAT Hall recently, demonstrated his influence on music in the Northern region of the country.

Blessed Dee, who is well-known for his rap skill, defeated seven other rappers from the five Northern Regions to win.

Blessed Dee mentioned the importance of his followers to the development and success of his music in a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz.

He made the point that if his supporters hadn't had faith in his ability, he likely would have given up and lost his aspirations, like many young artists do.

"It's incredibly difficult for every emerging artist because the industry lacks enough support systems, therefore I give my fans all the credit for the successes I've achieved in these few years.

He said, "Their support has always been a major inspiration to me. They buy, listen to, share, and come to my events.

Blessed Dee aims to amuse and engage with fans once more at an event set for later in the year. His debut performance last year wowed fans.
