It added, “Due to current trends on the international market and its impact on domestics’ prices we have resolved with stakeholders to review transport fares whenever the cumulative net effect is 10 percent or more.”
Speaking to Soiree news, the General Secretary of the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council, Mr. Emmanuel Ohene Yeboah confirmed the increment.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Secretary in charge of the operation for GPRTU, Mr. Richard Amankwaa speaking to Soiree News Rosemond Kissiwaa observed that the components that informed their proposal for 30% increment were the cost of spare parts, lubricants, fuel, government and Assembly revenue, and interest rates.
He said, “the unions have settled on the 15% increment though, but we will be compelled to add 10% if the prices of petroleum products increase by 10% in the coming days”.
