Heavy security at NPP office over nomination forms picking as tension rises.

There has been heavy security at the Sunyani East Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over some misunderstandings greeting the picking of nomination forms for the party’s constituency elections.

Some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sunyani East Constituency were chanting and resisting some practices they suspect could end up in some willing delegates being denied nomination forms for the various positions in the upcoming Party elections.
Speaking in an interview with Soiree news Rosemond  Kissiwaa at the Sunyani Municipal Assembly after the exercise was moved there due to inconveniences at the Party’s office, some who had already received their forms were not happy about the whole exercise.
They accused some members and executives of discrimination in joining the queue.
Some of them were also satisfied with the process as their persistence for fairness had yielded good results.
But those who were still in the queue and almost losing hope of getting one shared their toils as they had been tossed here and there for long.
Some are also accusing the election commission officials of denying them access to the nomination forms.
According to them, the officials blamed their inability to provide them the forms on the shortage of stamp pads, a move they suspect was a calculated attempt to reject them from picking the forms.
Speaking to Soiree news, a polling station chairman Stephen Kwarteng also known as “Agabus” said they suspect foul play to scheme the process in their favor.
He added that “the duration of the selling of the forms was 2 hours 30mns with only 580 forms sold per their checks”.
Meanwhile, the Sunyani East Constituency Chairman for the NPP, Frank Musah Domtar has been arrested  and granted a self-cognizance bail by the Sunyani Divisional Police command
