Tons of fresh tomatoes are currently going to waste at Tuobodom in the Techiman North District of Bono East Region of Ghana as farmers failing to get buyers for their products and are therefore calling on the government to come to their aid.

He called on the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to institute measures to do away with the constant post-harvest losses and annual wastage in their food production as this phenomenon will discourage farmers from investing in farming which may lead to a food shortage or hungeshortlynwhile, some disgruntled farmers who spoke to Soireenews said, they applied for bank loans for their farms and have struggled a lot in the bush to come out with their tomato produce but for lack of buyers the product are perishing which is negatively affecting their livelihoods.

The farmers, therefore, are appealing to the government for intervention and the general public to show up to purchase their tomatoes which are on the verge of rotting for lack of buyers.
