Things under Highly Spiritual were up and down, and at one time I even considered selling his car - Mr. Drew

Mr. Drew, the stage name of Andrew Nii Commey Otoo, has discussed the difficulties he had while working with Highly Spiritual Music.

The 'Case' hitmaker claimed that the time was characterized by difficulty and ultimate achievement.

He revealed these details while discussing his path to fame in an interview with Giovanni Caleb and AJ Sarpong on 3FM.

Things under the record label were intermittent, he recalled. Although it wasn't typical, it was controllable. That should give you a good indication of how awful things were at the time since I clearly remember Papa Kaywa arriving to talk and telling us that I had once even tried to sell my automobile. That was before the hit songs came, after that, it got better but things got better but it still wasn’t there. It was manageable.”

Mr. Drew confirmed that there were no unresolved issues that contributed to his leaving Highly Spiritual while speaking about his departure.

Instead, it was a mutual choice that was made with respect and understanding. "My contract was up, but I was able to avoid quitting abruptly. I was able to break my contract. All parties involved mutually understood and moved on, he said.

The interview's most noteworthy element, though, was Mr. Drew's reiteration of his intention to leave Highly Spiritual his part of royalties; this was an unusual act in the music business and a show of appreciation.

He reiterated his prior statement that he is leaving behind the royalties he had previously received from the company for his popular songs.

"Leaving the royalties with Highly Spiritual was me saying thank you [to Kaywa] for everything and then I'd leave it at that," he revealed.
