Cristiano Ronaldo: Goodbye Real Madrid, goodbye individual awards

It's almost two years since Cristiano Ronaldo's Real Madrid exit was confirmed.

The Portuguese forward officially joined Juventus on June 11, 2018, leaving Los Blancos without their talisman and goalscorer.

Since making the move to Turin, Ronaldo hasn't enjoyed quite as much success when it comes to individual accolades.

He was named the best player in Serie A during the 2018/19 season, but that's the only individual award he's received while at Juve.

Ballon d'Or

The Ballon d'Or stayed at Real Madrid, even when Ronaldo left, with Luka Modric picking up the award in 2018. The following year, Lionel Messi was crowned winner, moving past Ronaldo on to a record six titles.

FIFA's The Best

The exact same happened with this award as with the Ballon d'Or, with Modric and Messi beating Ronaldo to it in 2018 and 2019 respectively. In 2019, Ronaldo didn't even finish second, with Virgil van Dijk beating him to that position.

European Golden Boot

Ronaldo won this award twice during his time at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu (2013/14 and 2014/15), but he's only got an outside chance this year. Robert Lewandowski leads the way with 29 goals and 58 points, with the Juventus forward fifth on 21 goals and 42 points. Messi has won the award for the last three seasons.

Champions League top scorer

Ronaldo may lead Messi in the overall goalscoring charts in the competition - 128 to 114 - but he was way behind the Argentine's tally last season. Ronaldo notched six times in the Champions League in 2018/19, while Messi won the award with 12 goals. Before moving to Italy, Ronaldo won the prize seven times - six with Real Madrid (including a record 17-goal haul in 2013/14) and one with Manchester United.

UEFA Player of the Year

Ronaldo won this accolade three times as a Real Madrid player (2014, 2016, and 2017) but Modric and Van Dijk have beaten it to him since he left Spain.

Golden Boot

In LaLiga Santander, Ronaldo won three Pichichi trophies as the league's top scorer. In his first full season in Serie A, Fabio Quagliarella edged him out, scoring 26 goals to Ronaldo's 21. This season, Ciro Immobile leads the way on 27 compared to the Portuguese's 21.
