The pregnancy's termination was your idea, Sarkodie tells Yvonne Nelson

The Country Side hitmaker revealed his side of the tale in a new song called Try Me, which has subsequently gained popularity since it was published on June 27.

He said that although he wasn't ready at the time, he wanted her to have the baby but Yvonne rejected on the grounds that she was in school.

Sarkodie discussed how he was truly in love with Yvonne Nelson but that it turns out he was probably only one of the many males in her life at the time in the 3:16-minute song, showing his intense emotions throughout.

He said he didn't want to reveal that aspect of his life till he passed away but that he has been obliged to do so since Yvonne Nelson spread a falsehood that benefits her.

“I’m not going to lie, we had a thing. First, I thought we had a think until I had the hint that there were many guys. I tried to stay away but then you came that you were pregnant. But then I wasn’t ready but I told you to keep it.

“You told me you were schooling so you needed to complete it but till today, I don’t believe it. I told you to let my doctor take care of you and you sent a text later that your friend has recommended a one of the best doctors…

“So don’t you make it seem like I was the one pushing you for abortion. Baby girl make you no try me”, he raps on Ty Me.

Award-winning actress Yvonne Nelson has admitted that following a brief romance with Sarkodie, she had an abortion in 2010.

She claims that she made the choice after Sarkodie decided not to take custody of the child because he was still a young man and not in a stable financial situation.

In Chapter 8 of her new book, "I am not Yvonne Nelson," which was published at Peduase Lodge on Sunday, June 18, 2023, Yvonne describes the occurrence. She claims that Sarkodie and his manager at the time took her to a clinic in Mamprobi to have the foetus removed. That came after an unsuccessful effort involving medicines that a friend had suggested.
