The Municipal Chief Executive MCE of Berekum East and Presiding Member PM has a tour of the Ongoing Sinohydro Road Projects in Berekum. 

The tour took the MCE, PM and some New Patriotic Party (NPP) faithful on the ongoing ring road construction being undertaken by the Chinese Sinohydro from Berekum Senior High School gate through to Kyerebaa, Mpatapo, Mpatasie, Continental, Allawa junction and Akab high street to New Biadan, Senase and finally ended at Berekum Senior High School.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Berekum East Municipal Honourable Kofi Adjei together with the Assembly Presiding Member, Honourable Joseph Baffour Awuah, Assembly Technocratics, and some NPP party faithful have toured the ongoing Sinohydro road project in the golden city. 

The tour took the MCE, PM, and some New Patriotic Party (NPP) faithful on the ongoing ring road construction being undertaken by the Chinese Sinohydro from Berekum Senior High School gate through to Kyerebaa, Mpatapo, Mpatasie, Continental, Allawi junction and Akab high street to New Biadan, Senase and finally ended at Berekum Senior High School. 

Speaking to the media, Honourable Kofi Adjei commended President Nana Akufo Addo and the Bono Regional Minister Honourable Justina Owusu Banahene for honouring the promise made to the people of Berekum to upgrade the inner city roads in Berekum. 

He again commended the contractor for the work done so far and said, the ring road when complete will promote the free form of movement within the Municipality especially the arterial road network will enable vehicles and travellers from Seikwa to use the bypass through the Sunyani Highway without using the central part of the Berekum roads to Sunyani and the same applies to those travelling from Dormaa Ahenkro to Sunyani will also bypass from AAllawiJunction to Berekum Senior High to the Sunyani Highway without using the main central part of Berekum road.

Adding that, he has been consistent with the project and the contractor of the work they are doing and can say is not true that he has not been abreast with the project of work ongoing in the town and they have the support of everyone with work they are doing in the town. 

On his part, the Consultant to the project, Mr Evans Wreko said, the contractor has done 60% of the project and they are to construct drains, curves, and bitumen surfacing of 10 kilometres. He said the rainy season has been their main challenge but is doing everything possible to complete the project by the end of this year 2022.

The Presiding Member of the Berekum Municipal Assembly, Honourable Joseph Baffour Awuah also added that the Assembly will meet next month and the tour was to help him abreast himself with the situation of the inner city road construction to enable him to find out means to assist the people of Berekum to rectify any of the challenges face the people on the road.

He again said, the tour also helped them to know that what people are saying is not true and that the authorities in the Municipality are not aware of the construction of the road but said that there are some challenges in some of the roads that have been abandoned but believes very soon the contractor assign to some of the roads will come back to the site to finish the project for the people of Berekum. 


The tour was specially sponsored by the Member of Parliament for Berekum East Constituency, Honourable Nelson Kwaku Kyeremeh with drinks to be distributed to the workers at the construction site.
