The Job Of the Police Is Not To Shoot To Kill - Former Mayor Of Tamale

Former Mayor of Tamale, Hon. Musah Iddrisu has called on the police administration to expedite the investigation into the shootings in Lamashegu that had led to the death of a Junior High School graduate.

He said the duty of the police is not to kill but to protect the lives and property of the citizenry.

According to him, the investigation must be wholly transparent.

On Sunday 13th February 2022, some police personnel chased and shot a driver at the premises of Lamasheigu's chief palace. The incident sparked agitation in the community resulting in three individuals sustaining gunshot wounds.
