Tension Brews In NPP  Western North Region Aftermath of NPP Regional Election
The Concerned Youth of Seaman Constituency of the Western North Region are accusing the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sefwi-Akontombra Constituency in the Western North Region,  Mr. Alex Djornobuah Tetteh of being in league with the defeated Western North Regional Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Madam Gifty Adu Ankamah to nullify the results in the outcome of the NPP Western North Regional election of the officers.
The group noted that it is rather unfortunate a group called Western North Grassroots Agenda - (WENGA) led by the newly elected Western North Regional Chairman, Mr. Benjamin Armah, and Mr. Alex Tetteh who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Western North are trying all lackadaisical means to annul the sovereign will of the people by taking sides and using all means to support the people, especially Gifty Adu Ankawah Gift who has lost to bring disunity.
Addressing a press conference in Seaman yesterday, the leadership of the group in the persons of De-Graft Kwakye Donkor, Sampson Adu, Edmund Amoabeng Alex Gyekey, Kwaku Mensa, and Richard Armahopare Benjamin recalled that on Friday  27th May 2022 the Western North Region held a delegate’s conference to elect its regional executives in the region.
According to the gross, the conference was very peaceful free, and fair. Some incumbents retained their position whilst some lost. That’s the beauty of democracy since elections are either won or lost.
The group noted that the treasurer position was keenly contested by Mr. John Armoh Kye and Madam Gifty Adu Ankamah (Incumbent).
At the end of the poll, the group said a valid vote of 100 was polled by Mr. John AMOKYE as against 99 by Madam Gifty Adu Ankamah.
The group asserted that the election was duly declared in favor of Hon Armoh Kye by the electoral commission which has the mandate to organize and declare elections as having been won by a vote difference.
It indicated that since the declaration of the results in favor of Mr. John Armoh Kye, the newly elected chairman, Mr. Benjamin Armah, and the MP for Akontombra have resorted to all rough tactics to annul the results meanwhile the youth organizer position women organizers, and Nasara organizers suffered the same fate.
The group pointed out that their hypocrisy to comment on these positions lies in the fact that they belong to the same camp.
"We are therefore appealing to the national elections committee, the director of elections and the Alternative Dispute Resolution and legal support committee (ADR &LSC), and the regional minister to admonish this group and individuals to put a stop to this selfish interest before it results in a big confusion in the region because any attempt to subvert the sovereign will of the people will be resisted.
It said the challenges in the elections do not invalidate the outcome of election results.
He maintained the elections are over and we should be more focused on unity to break the eight but not result in issues that bring division.
The group noted that the interest of the region supersedes every other interest so Mr. Benjamin Armah and Hon Tetteh should be called to order.
"It will interest you to know that, in 2019, Gifty Adu Ankamah won by the same difference of which Hon Armoh Kye accepted the result in good faith so why are Mr. Benjamin Armah and Hon Tetteh trying to bring problem this time.
"For these reasons, we are calling on the national council and the national executive council to stop this pressure group from creating more confusion in the region since the election was conducted under free and fair conditions," the group said.
