Techiman Zongo Chieftaincy Dispute: Joy News Correspondent Anas Sabit Attacked with Pepper Spray and Car Vandalized by Youth of Feuding Faction.

There is serious tension brewing at the Central Zongo of Techiman the Bono East Regional capital as a result of the installation of a New Chief (Sariki Zango).
It would be recalled that on 9th October 2022, the over 15-year bedridden Techiman Zongo Chief Sariki Muhammadu Awudu passed on and his funeral was held on 6th November 2022 as custom demands a new Chief to be selected and installed to steer the affairs of the Settler Communities in the municipality.
Two Candidates from the same Royal Gate namely; Alhaji Hawaisu Alhassan and his younger Brother Alhaji Hashiru Alhassan who expressed interest in occupying the seat claiming have gone through the necessary customary rites have both been carrying themselves as newly installed Chief of Techiman Zongo, a situation which has created an uneasy calm between the two factions.
Unfolding the events in this seeming Chieftaincy dispute has resulted in an attack on our very own brother in the Media fraternity Anas Sabit Anas the Morning Show Host of Gaskiya Radio in Techiman and the Bono East Regional Correspondent for Joy News (Multimedia) which he has been harmed with Pepper spray and his Car seriously vandalized by some angry youth in town.

Anas Sabit has called on the Traditional Authorities of Techiman, the Political Leadership and the Ghana Police Service to intervene in the matter and ensure the arrest of the perpetrators for the law to take its course.
