Joined the Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Dramani to visit the family members of the late Deputy Minister of Finance is his private residence located at Chantan in the Greater Accra Region.

This comes to light when the Vice President who doubles as the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led a government delegation to the residence of the late Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah, on March 8, 2024.

The purpose of the visit was to offer condolences to the grieving family over the untimely demise of the minister.
The delegation included some key government officials and national executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). 
They included Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Opare; NPP National Chairman Stephen Ntim; Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a former flagbearer hopeful; Sammy Awuku, and Titus Glover, a Greater Accra Regional Minister-designate.

The members and supporters of the NPP who joined the Vice President also include the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Anyaa Sowutuom Constituency, Dr. Adomako Kissi, the Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the area, Mr . Emmanuel Torbbin and the Anyaa Sowotuom NPP Constituency Executives led by Chairman Anthony Boadu.
Other Dignitaries include, Ga Central Municipal Chief Executive, (MCE), Mr Ambrose Tsegah and former MCE, Dr. Emmanuel Lamptey, Mr Bashiru Kamara and Anyaa Sowotuom Constituency Executives were all present.
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews. com, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Ambrose Tsegah, in an interview explained that, indeed the NPP has lost a true and a committed patriot.
He indicated that they have deserved to  mourn with the bereaved family within the Municipality along with H. E. Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at his residence in Nii Okai-man East electoral area in the Anyaa Sowotuom Constituency.
For his part, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia encouraged the family members to be strong and wished the good Lord to strengthen the family in this difficult moment.
“This afternoon, I visited the home of Hon. John Ampontuah Kumah to commiserate with the immediate family and sign the book of condolences. I was accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Chairman of the @NPP_GH, and government and party officials.
“I had the opportunity to work with John on several projects to my greatest admiration. Indeed, Ghana and the NPP have lost a hardworking son. My deepest condolences to Lilian and the children, his mother, the entire family, and all loved ones,” Bawumia said in an X post.
He assured family of his commitment to support them within his strength.
Honourable Kumah passed away at the Suhum Government Hospital after a short illness.
Honourable.John Kumah before his demise was the Member of Parliament (MP) for the people of Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.
Because of his hard work and dedication, he went unopposed to represent them again but unfortunately lost his life.
