Tanzania VIPs to get only 10-minute road clearance favour

Philip Mpango, the vice president of Tanzania, has instructed police to just briefly stop roads—not for hours—when allowing VIPs to pass.

It happened after police had shut down the roads for four hours on Wednesday while Mr. Mpango was touring the northern Mwanza area.

He claimed that despite his warnings to the police inspector general against prolonged road closures, this nevertheless occurred.

He apologized to the people of Mwanza for causing the gridlock.
