Take the COVID-19 vaccines, they are safe’- Bono Minister urges

The Bono Regional Minister, Honourable Justina Owusu Banahene has entreated all Ghanaians, especially those who fall within the age bracket for the immunizations, to as a matter of urgency, take the vaccine to help protect themselves and their families.

She gave the advice when she met with top officials of Ghana Health Services who came to brief her on the modalities of the NATIONAL IMMUNISATION DAY (NID) which started across the country on February 2, 2022.

In an interview with the media after the meeting, the Bono Regional Minister, on her behalf and behalf of the people of Ghana, expressed profound gratitude to doctors, nurses and all health workers for their selflessness, commitment and determination to save lives even at the peril of their own.
The Honorable Minister sternly refuted the rumours emanating from unsubstantiated sources about the side effects of the vaccines.

She emphasized that the minor discomforts in some people reacting to drugs are far better than remaining under oxygen in the hospital.

Dr Prince Quarshie, deputy director of Public health at the Bono regional health directorate who set the tone for the meeting after the usual pleasantries hinted at the objectives of the NID program which include improving upon public health, bringing the immunizations closer to the people and assuring the public of availability and safety of the vaccines.
