The Municipal Chief Executive for Sunyani East, Mr. Ansu Kumi has received a citation of honour from the 261 presiding members in the country for his dedication and commitment towards the assembly during his tenure.

Receiving the citation and  Mr. Ansu expressed gratitude for such an honour and thanked the presiding members. Mr, Ansu was also the guest speaker at the event held at the Koforidua Capital View Hotel.

He charged his colleague MCEs to utilize the experience gained from serving as presiding members to create innovative ways to facilitate development in their various districts.

In his speech he said “we cannot fail the president nor the people because it is a fact that they have studied the structure of the local governance system so well, hence there's no excuse for failure on their part”.

He added, "consultation has always been the way to greater outcomes so we should use it as our primary tool to bringing development to our people".

Mr.  Ansu Kumi continued by urging the presiding Members still in office to work hard and avoid needless confrontations with their chief executives as that would be counterproductive to the development they are in dire need of.

He stressed that His journey into the office of MCE started as an Assemblyman in 2010 until he was elected as Presiding Member in 2017 and with hard work, dedication to leadership, he was identified and tasked to work for the country as one of the MCEs, hence that should inspire them to also excel.

Dignitaries like Council of state Members, Professor Ato Essuman who was the Chairman of the program,  Mr E.T Mensah, Mr Bismark Nkoom, president of NALAG and Mr Kokro Amankwaa, General Secretary were all present.
