Suhum NPP In Fresh  Trouble As NDC Exposes Ghost Road Projects On NPP
The Communication Officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the  Suhum Constituency of the Eastern Region, Mr. Dove Maxwell has, described the currently statement made by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Suhum Municipal Assembly, Mrs. Margaret Darko Darkwah about the construction of Suhum roads as a fallacious and scam.
According to him, the Suhum NDC Communication outfit is committed to setting the record straight, and as part of this endeavour, we took our "Suhum Nti Project" to the Maame Donya-Akorabo road to unveil the true state of the road.
He pointed out that the Maame Donya -Akorabo road is a crucial route connecting two agricultural-based communities, playing a vital role in transporting foodstuff to the municipal capital.
He maintained that this road is vital to help ensure food security in the municipality and cannot be overstated, adding that "Therefore, it is a great concern for the good people of Suhum as the road deteriorates condition."
Contrary to the misleading statements made by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), he stated that the NDC has undertaken this initiative to expose the deplorable state of the road network in the Suhum constituency.
He asserted that the concerns expressed by the people of Suhum have been met with indifference by the MCE, who has resorted to dishonesty and name-calling instead of addressing these pressing developmental issues.
He noted that the construction of this specific road, along with numerous other dilapidated roads in the municipality was underway through the cocoa road contracts in 2016.
According to Mr Dove, these contracts would have ensured proper construction and maintenance of these roads.
"But unfortunately, the insensitive Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led NPP government came into power and terminated these contracts, leaving the roads in a state of disrepair.
"Through this press release, we urge the MCE and the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led NPP government to cease spreading falsehoods about the construction of Suhum roads and instead sincerely address the legitimate concerns of the community," he noted.
He indicated that the people of Suhum deserve better, and it is high time that the road infrastructure in the area receives the attention it urgently requires.
