Stop parading yourself as Awisahene - Head of Aprebase Royal Family of Awisa warns Nana Ankama Kwasi Brempong

The family head of Aprebase Royal Family of Awisa in the Wenchi traditional area in the Bono Region, Abusuapanyin Paul Kwame Baffo has warned Nana Ankama Kwasi Brempong to stop parading himself as Awisahene.

In a press released by Abusuapanyin Paul Kwame Baffo stressed that the right and proper Awisahene duly enstooled as Chief for the people of Awisa is Nana Takyi Boateng IV.

A portion of the press release read that,     on the 10th day of August 2022 members of the Ahenfie Yefiri of Wenchi, held a press conference, setting out their grievances relating to Wenchi stool affairs, which press conference was aired on several Radio stations in Wenchi and its environs including Ewiase FM.

In one of such bulletins of Ewiase FM, one person described as Nana Ankama Kwasi Brempong, in making a statement on the subject aforementioned, described himself as Awisahene among others.

Without prejudice to the import of allegations made by Ahenfie Yefiri Royals relating to Wenchi stool affairs, I wish to place on record that the said person, Nana Ankama Kwasi Brempong is not Awisahene, and has never in his lifetime been deemed to be Awisahene the statement continued to read.

According to Abusuapanyin Paul Kwame Baffo, per gazette notification dated 9th June 1978 Nana Poku Aprebe III @ Kofi Dabanka of the Aprebase Royal Family of Awisa, reigned as Awisahene from 5th June 1977, gazetted by the National House of Chiefs as Awisahene on the 7th November 1978 and reigned as such until his demise on April 2005.

Upon his death, Nana Takyi Boateng IV succeeded him as Awisahene after he had been duly nominated, selected, and enstooled in line with time-honored custom and tradition of Awisa, Nana Akua Missah is also the Queen mother of Awisa he emphasized.

The release continues to read that the above verifiable facts are not only notoriously known by all and sundry within and outside Wenchi, but also known by the members of the Wenchi Traditional Council.

Consequently, we urged members of the general public, particularly natives of Awisa and Wenchi to disregard the said statement by that said Nana Ankama Kwasi Brempong and treat same with the contempt it deserves the release concluded.
