Stars are being pushed into politics by hunger, says Kwaku Manu

Kwaku Manu, an actor and comedian from Kumawood, said he is absolutely aware that many celebrities enter politics out of hunger and not necessarily out of a desire to give back.

Stars are being pushed into politics by hunger, says Kwaku Manu

September 9, on UTV's United Showbiz, which was monitored by Soireenews.com, Kwaku Manu remarked that many individuals, including celebrities, had discovered their new love for politics since there is a lot of money to be made there.

"Celebrities are starving, which is one of the main reasons some of us are entering politics. Nothing is happening for us right now, and I believe it is past time for the government to save us. The NPP and NDC regimes both made a lot of promises, but nothing has materialized.

How are we supposed to live better lives when our leaders are only concerned with their own interests? It is a sad situation that our politicians in Ghana are constantly enriching themselves, their friends, and their families at the expense of common people, he said.

The well-known actor also made the point that many celebrities run for office not necessarily because they agree with their political views but more because they need to fill their bellies.

Kwaku Manu also said that he is unfamiliar with the tourism minister.I don't even know the tourism minister because I'm unaware of his contributions to the sector.

"About 90% of famous people will struggle to name the minister of tourism, according to my estimate. Nothing is happening, and it is clear that we have been ignored," he said.
