The Volta caucus in the Parliament of Ghana has announced GHc 15,000 cash reward for anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of the killers of the deceased assembly member of the Sogakofe South electoral area.

The caucus noted that, the amount pledged adds to other pledges made, to entice citizens to be forthcoming with information that may help the police in their investigations.

 “Adding our pledge to that of the commendable act of kindness by Former President Rawlings who has pledged GHS25,000.00, the South Tongu District Assembly’s GHS10,000.00, South Tongu NDC Vice Chairman’s GHS10,000.00 and South Tongu MP’s GHS5,000.00; there’s now a total of GHS65,000.00 available for any good citizen with vital information” Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu -Volta Region, Okudzeto Ablakwa noted via social media today.

The MP revealed that, a delegation of the Volta Caucus in Parliament journeyed to South Tongu Constituency to commiserate with the family of the gruesomely murdered Assembly Member, Marcus Mawutor Adzahli.

According to him, meetings were also held with the District Chief Executive for North Tongu, and the police to discuss the way forward on how to apprehend the perpetrators in order to restore calm.

Okudzeto Ablakwa noted that, the caucus will make an official statement in parliament to rally for support in demanding justice for the deceased assembly man.

“The Volta Caucus is scheduled to make a statement in Parliament after our visit demanding justice for Comrade Marcus.

“There must be no hiding place for the evil ones who committed this heinous crime and indeed all criminals who have caused unbearable pain to many must be brought to justice”. He added.

The deceased assembly member, Marcus Mawutor Adzahli was purportedly murdered by a group of armed robbers at Toklopo near Sogakope in the early hours of Sunday, March 1

According to Joy News, the assailants eight in number broke into the home of the deceased and attempted making away with his savings. He was allegedly shot multiple times in the chest, stomach and head, leading to his death.

His wife also sustained an injury on the head and a knife wound in the shoulder during the scuffle.
