The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong, has hailed security agencies in Ghana for maintaining peace and order in the country.

According Mr. Acheampong, sustaining peace is very critical for the country's growth and development. It is therefore it is imperative for Ghana step up and maintain the peace we enjoy,

The Minister made these remarks in Koforidua after a parade at the forecourt of the Regional Police Headquarters, to mark the 76th Remembrance Day, celebrated worldwide in honour of our fallen heroes who fought in the first and second world war.

In all, 8 contingents formed the parade, and it was made up of two contingents from Ghana Armed Forces, as well as the Ghana Police Officers. The Ghana Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Prisons Service, and Veterans Association presented a contingent each.

Seth Acheampong laid a wreath on behalf of the President and the Republic of Ghana. Commanding Officer of 1BN Michel Camp-Tema laid a wreath on behalf of security services. Regional Chairman of Veterans Association of Ghana and Ag. Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area laid a wreath each for veterans and chiefs and people of eastern region respectively.
