The Volta Regional Statistician, Mr Chris Amewu is convinced, by the close of the exercise, Ghana will have very credible and reliable data which will help in the development of the country.

The 2021 Population and Housing census night in the Volta region, was characterized by traditional musical fare such as borborbor, Agbadza and Zibo across the 18 districts.

In the Regional capital, Ho there was a musical floating on major streets organized and led by the Ghana Statistical Service with supports from the National Commission for Civic Education after which more than 200 persons were counted at the Ho central market and the GPRTU lorry pack.

The Volta regional Statistician, Mr Chris Amewu has addressed the media around 1:20 Am said, this is a very important exercise hence all Ghanaians must make themselves available to be counted.

According to him, for every community to give the needed attention depends on the information given about them regarding their needs in the community and the challenges they face.

“This is a national agenda which will give the government the roadmap to where necessary attention should be paid to and the difficulties the people face in their various communities"


"Because of this, we must all attach all seriousness to this exercise since it will help us in the future plans to develop the country.

Mr Chris Amewu appealed to the people of the Volta region to make themselves available and cooperate with the enumerators what will be coming into their various homes for the exercise to be carried.

Some enumerators lamented about the difficulties they are going through at the start of the exercise and according to them, the people they have visited always complained about the less publicity about the exercise.

More also, some enumerators said, they face a lot of network challenges in some of the communities they found themselves in.

Addressing these challenges, Mr Amewu encouraged them to work as the national officials of the Population and Housing census to work things out to solve those challenges.

 Mr Amewu is convinced, by the close of the exercise, Ghana will have very credible and reliable data which will help in the development of the country.
