'Am ready for our clash with Arsenal' - Says Lukaku

Former Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku has reportedly said he is ready for Chelsea's clash against Arsenal on Sunday.

The Belgium ace Romelu Lukaku trained with his new Chelsea teammates for the first time on Tuesday with the striker set to prepare a clash with Arsenal.

The £97.5million striker is preparing to make his second Blues debut on Sunday against Arsenal after rejoining the club from Inter Milan.

Lukaku, who has revealed that Didier Drogba has helped him settle into life at Chelsea once again, was forced to wait to meet his colleagues.

But after completing his quarantine period following the move from Italy, he was finally given the green light to train yesterday.

Before the season, the ex-Manchester United told Chelsea’s official website saying, “I’m ready so it’s just about getting into the team and trying to prove myself to the coaches that if I’m needed, I can play.

“We all have to compete throughout the week to earn our starting spot.

“For me, it’s going to be a new fight but we’re all fighting for one cause to make sure that Chelsea win.

“I’ll make sure that in training I give 100 per cent every day and make sure that I’m ready for each game.

“I’m happy the first one is a big game away at Arsenal so hopefully we can prepare ourselves well and get a good result.”

Lukaku first arrived at Chelsea a decade ago and hit 113 goals for Manchester United, West Brom and Everton in England but none for the Blues.

Only veteran defender Cesar Azpilicueta remains at Stamford Bridge from the forward’s first stint there.

However, the Belgian has already revealed a developing bromance with Trevoh Chalobah due to his friendship with his ex-Chelsea midfielder brother Nat.

Lukaku watched the game on Saturday and has admitted he was overcome with emotion when the ball struck the net.
