The Odumase Krobo Circuit Court, in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region of Ghana, has convicted an 18-year-old man into 3 years imprisonment for storming school with a machete in an attempt to butcher a teacher.

The Convict, Kwaku Robert, pleaded guilty to the charges levelled against him when arraigned before court.

Kwaku Robert on August 11, 2021, stormed Kodjonya Millennium Presbyterian Junior High School with a machete in an attempt to attack a national Service teacher for rebuking his junior brother who is a JHS one student.

The prosecutor continued, that fortunately for the teacher, he had stepped out when the attacker stormed the classroom and was on his way home.

The entire teaching staff boycotted teaching and subsequently shut down the school indefinitely, pending police investigation and arrests of the perpetrator.

However, information gathered from Kodjonya Millennium Presbyterian School indicates that, upon the arrest and jailing of the suspect, the school has been reopened 4 days ago, and academic activities are currently ongoing smoothly.
