Reggie Rockstone: "Our music industry is corrupt, and artists are purchasing online streams"

Speaking on Property FM in Cape Coast, Reggie Rockstone voiced worry that many Ghanaian singers are turning to streaming farms, which are methods of artificially inflating streaming counts, instead of earning the astounding numbers of streams they claim.

The Me Na Me Kae singer didn't hold back when he denounced the corruption that has crept into the music industry, implying that it should be the subject of a lengthy conversation.

He declared, "Some bands receive enormous amounts of streams, but these aren't always real because they employ streaming farms. We should talk about the corruption that has crept into music these days, but that's a topic for another time.

Not content to stop there, Rockstone also stated that the creators of well-known digital streaming services, such as Spotify, are making enormous profits at the expense of the musicians themselves.

The Ghanaian musician continued by saying that the people who started these platforms—especially those from other countries—benefit mostly from the money made on them.

Rockstone bemoaned, "The digital streaming platforms they've created, like Spotify and the rest, are really enjoying our money out of the hands of white people." We have a lot of things to consider because they are truly wasting our money and are constantly coming up with new ways to rip.
