Real Madrid vs Liverpool, Bayern drawn to PSG in Champions League quarter finals

The Champions League finals this year will be played on Saturday 29 May at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, Istanbul.

Real Madrid have been drawn to Liverpool Football club in the Champions League quarter-finals whiles Bayern Munich takes on Paris Saint Germain.

The Reds and the Los Blancos have met in two European Cup finals, the English club winning 1-0 in Paris in 1981 thanks to Alan Kennedy's goal before Madrid triumphed 3-1 in Kyiv in 2018. Karim Benzema's opening goal was cancelled out by Sadio Mané, but two further strikes from substitute Gareth Bale - including a stunning overhead effort - gave Madrid the trophy for the 13th time.

A repeat of last season's final will be witnessed between Bayern and PSG when Kingsley Coman's 59th-minute header gave the Blaugranas the trophy. That was the teams' ninth fixture with the eight previous matches all in the UEFA Champions League group stage.  Paris have the edge with five wins to Bayern's three.

Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea will travel to Portugal to engage FC Porto, with Manchester City paired with Borussia Dortmund.

The Blues and Porto have played eight previous matches, all in the UEFA Champions League and all since 2004/05. Most recently, in the 2015/16 group stage, each side won their home game, Chelsea winning 2-0 in England before a 2-1 Porto victory in Portugal.

Also, City and Dortmund's only previous meetings came in the 2012/13 group stage. The game in Manchester finishing 1-1 - Marco Reus scoring Dortmund's goal - before a 1-0 home win in Germany.

The winner of Bayern Munich v Paris Saint Germain’s encounter will meet the winner of Man City and Dortmund in the semifinals.

In the same way, the victor of Real Madrid v Liverpool’s clash will engage the winner between Porto and Chelsea.

The Quarter-finals first legs matches will take place on 6/7 April with the Second legs to come off on13/14 April.
