Queendalyn Yurglee: Receiving my first TGMA nomination excites me

Following her nomination in the category of Best Female Vocal Performer at this year's Ghana Music Awards, which will take place on Saturday, June 1 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), gospel singer Queendalyn Yurglee is ecstatic.

The singer's achievement holds great significance as she is making her first appearance as a nominee at the esteemed awards ceremony, which is widely recognized as the most anticipated event in Ghana's entertainment calendar.

Although Queendalyn is thrilled with her achievement, she still has to defeat Adina, Abiana, Niella, Titi Owusu, and Lordina The Soprano—all formidable opponents for the title.

Niella, a gospel singer, is now the TGMA Best Female Vocal Performer. Adina took home the award in 2018, however Abiana won the title in 2021. But Queendalyn is unafraid of her formidable rivals.

She expressed her excitement to Graphic Showbiz that she will be taking home the Best Female Vocal Performer trophy on TGMA night. "I think everyone in the category has a chance to win the crown, and I respect them all, therefore I may also win.

"Despite some people's claims that they didn't recognize Niella when she was nominated for the category the previous year, Niella ended up winning.

I'm really optimistic about my chances because being nominated entitles you to a 50% chance of winning," she remarked. Queendalyn, also known as Arkbearer, published an EP in August of last year called The Birth.

This EP is consistent with her mission to disseminate the good news of God's salvation and the practical applications of the Holy Spirit to the Christian faith.

Wotim Ho Daa (You remain the same), Honhom Kronkron, Hold My Hands, Izuru (which means you deserve praise in Igbo) starring Mike Aremu, and Come and See (featuring Akesse Brempong) are the five tracks on the EP, which was released on Sunday, August 6.

Mordecai recorded the songs Wotim Ho Daa, Honhom Kronkron, Hold My Hands, and Izuru; Francis Osei, a music producer, mixed and mastered the tracks. On the other hand, LaxioBeats produced Come and See.
