Poultry Farmers Association in Assin North, South and Central in the Central Region, has agreed on a new prices for crete of eggs with immediate effect. 
The General Secretary of the Association,Mr. Amoako Appiah Dankwah speaking in an interview with tNkwa FM monitored by Soireenews.com noted that the crete of eggs which was sold at GH¢28 is now sold at GH¢ 31 thus smaller size, the medium size which was sold at GH.30 is now GH¢33 whiles the bigger sizes which was sold at GH¢ 32 is now GH¢35.
He said the increment has become necessary due to the frequent increase in the prices of maize,soya beans and other production materials.
He pleaded with consumers to bear with their new prices else their farms likely to collapse.
He pleaded with the Ministry of Agriculture and the government to wave the taxes on poultry materials imported into the country in other to lesser the burden on the ordinary farmer and also government should give soft loans to poultry farmers in hard times in other to sustain their farms.
The Chief Executive Officer for Dannis Group of Companies who doubles as a poultry farmer Mr. Dannis Ankomah Mends expressed his disappointment in the Agriculture Ministry for sidelining farmers in the poultry sector especially those in Assin.
"The whole of Assin has no vertinary officer to help the farmers in terms of any sickness in their farms. He said the ministry is unable to monitor the import of substandard feeds into the country and other factors," he disclosed.
