Pressure Mounts On Zoomlion To Relocate Refuse  Dump In Sefwi Surano
The Assembly Member for Sefwi Surano Electoral Area in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality in the Western North Region, Honourable Mathew Obiri Adjarko has mounted intense pressure on the Zoomlion Ghana Limited to find indelible solutions to the swollen refuse dump in Sefwi Surano community.
In an account with the assembly member, he chronicled that they can no longer cope with the weird smell of the refused dump, as a result hailing on the company and other related stakeholders for nimble action.
Mr Mathew Adjarko noted that they had made  several calls to the Zoomlion Ghana Limited to fix the problem but the company is yet to respond.
“We have nowhere to dump our refuse, but the Zoomlion Ghana limited has kept their refused here for some years. This has serious health ramifications on our people, so we are calling on the government and other stakeholders to ensure the Zoomlion find some place to dump their refuse’’, he stated.
He replied that about a few kilometres of road which bound the community to the major spell has been withdrawn, however calling on the Ghana Highway Authority to adjust it for them.
“The contractor doing the Subri Nkwanta to Akoti roads deliberately deserted the Surano artery, which is just some half a mile. This is outright rascal and awful.”
In supposition, he emphasized that market women in the community find it very pessimistic to sell their farm produce under the torrid sun.
He therefore pleaded the Municipal Assembly for a market structure to help the wretched farmers do their businesses.
