Police Arrest Key Suspect Guntu Over Omanjor Killing
The police apprehended the suspect at Manhean in Accra, acting on intelligence gathered while he was in hiding.
Gutu, one of the suspects allegedly involved in the bloody shooting incident during the Omanjor Homowo festival celebration, has been arrested and remanded by the Adabraka Circuit Court in Accra.

The violent incident, which occurred on Sunday, August 30, 2025, resulted in four deaths and left several others injured.
Following the shooting, the perpetrators fled, but police investigations and a tip-off led to Gutu's arrest and detention.
Investigations are still underway to track down and arrest the remaining individuals involved.
Reports indicate that Gutu and associates allegedly tracked the victims from Pokuase, where they had attended an event at Omanjor, and killed them at Olebu in the Ga North Municipality."
Sources note that the suspect is known for prior criminal activities and has been accused of involvement in multiple murder cases across the Ga State.
It would be recalled, the violent incident occurred on August 30, 2025, during the annual Homowo Festival, a time of cultural pride and celebration for the chiefs and people of Omanjor and nearby communities.
The festival procession, which included the traditional sprinkling of Kpokpoi, was reportedly disrupted near the “Police land” area by the accused and approximately 30 others who claimed the celebrants had trespassed on their land.
The confrontation escalated into gunfire, resulting in the deaths of certain personalities. Several others sustained injuries

Authorities say efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects who are currently on the run.
