Real Madrid’s defender and captain, Sergio Ramos is the subject of much debate heading into the summer transfer window, with his current contract at the Los Blancos set to expire after June.

The Los Blancos are yet to reach an agreement with their club’s captain over an extension, and PSG is one of several clubs reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation.

PSG manager, Mauricio Pochettino refused to confirm whether the French champions will try to bring in Ramos, but did concede that they will be in the market for high-quality reinforcements after a turbulent 2020-21 campaign.

"I'm not going to answer the Sergio Ramos to PSG rumours because everything can be misinterpreted. Sergio is a Real Madrid player but what I can say is that, like any team, we want to improve in all positions," the Parisians manager.

The Argentine has not ruled out a swoop for the Real Madrid defender in the summer window but also regard him as one of the best defenders in the world and of his generation.

Sergio is a physically strong player who excels in the air due to his elevation, eye for goal, and heading accuracy, making him a goal threat on set-pieces.

This alone set the blueprint for Madrid’s skipper and Pochettino admires competence and experience in the field of play.

The Parisians manager has indeed addressed the rumours linking Sergio Ramos with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, admitting "we want to improve in all positions".

Being the pivotal force of the Los Blancos defence, he has indeed shown interest in him but would only wait for the opportunity to present itself.
