Manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Leroy Sane will leave Manchester City football club to pursue a new challenge.

The German international rejected the offer of a new contract to stay at the Etihad and reports have revealed Bayern Munich as the suitable destination of the 24-year-old.

Sane joined Manchester City from Schalke in 2016 in a reported £37m and will have his contract run out in 2021. He has not played for the club since suffering cruciate ligament damage during the Community Shield in August.

"Leroy said he doesn’t want to extend his contract," Guardiola said.

"If he wants to leave and it is going to happen this summer or at the end of the contract. The club talked to me a few times, he rejected his contract so he wants to play at another club.

"I think everybody knows and if at the end of this season an agreement can be found he will leave, if not he will leave at the end of his contract."

The German Champions earlier confronted City on the sale of the player and according to report, an amount of £60 million was placed on the attacking midfielder.

Former Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes snubbed the price tag of the player and discussed that it is not a fair deal judging the fact that the 24-year-old is still a work in progress of becoming a top star.

"For me, he has not yet made a breakthrough to becoming an absolute top player," Heynckes said.

“I think this is a player at a crossroads. Will he keep working hard on himself or will he remain just as an exceptional talent?

“He has to be ready to take the next big step because there is no use in flashing the talent from time to time.

“I also honestly tell you that I don’t consider the price justifiable.

His price value will surely drop with the player's loss of interest in the Etihad club and his contract entering its final stage.
