Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman Manu, who doubles as MP for Dormaa Central constituency, has called on Ghanaians to eschew partisanship and fully participate in the ongoing population and housing census as it is very crucial to the development planning of the country.

He told that observations made indicate that some people are politicizing the exercise and expressed regret that some Ghanaians seem to love their political lineage than the nation’s progress.

"If people will use their political affiliation to sabotage the exercise, which is aimed at enhancing the planning for national development, then Ghana's democracy has a long way to go," the minister said.

Mr Agyeman Manu appealed to people with such notion to alter their thinking and co-operate to make the exercise a success.

He indicated that in the 2021 Census night, which was on the 25th of June, all foreigners in the country were also counted since the exercise is aimed at acquiring precise and up-to-date data that would make planning for many aspects of public life more effective.

He advised the general public not to bar foreigners from being counted since they are also included in the exercise.
