The Akuapem-South Parliamentary seat poses as one of the most important seats in the Eastern Region, with its strategic position as the transit point between the Eastern Region and the Capital, Greater Accra.
Its rural, peri-urban, and urban constituents continue to long for a rather versatile representation in Parliament that has been lost on the people since the Constituency was carved out of the Aburi-Nsawam Constituency more than a decade ago.
The challenges confronting the people which range from huge infrastructural deficit especially the poor road networks, water and sanitation, education, youth unemployment, and under-development of the tourism potential of the constituency has seen very little effort from both previous and current Members of Parliaments in addressing those critical challenges confronting the people.
