Over 30,000  Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19 In Wenchi

A total of 36, 524 have been fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 vaccine in the Wenchi municipality of the Bono Region, Public Health Officer at the Wenchi Municipal Health Directorate, Mr George Agyemang disclosed.

According to him their total target for the vaccination has been estimated for 79,102
Mr Agyemang made the disclosure in an interview with Soiree News Nana Anfreh Damanta in Wenchi.
He however expressed worry over the low pace of interest shown in the vaccination exercises in the area and across the country, a situation he describes as unfortunate.
The Wenchi Municipal Public Health Officer used the opportunity to appear to the residents of Wenchi who are yet to be vaccinated to visit the nearest health facilities to get themselves vaccinated.
Meanwhile, the Bono Regional Health Directorate has cautioned against the illegalities alleged to have been engaged with exercise. His caution follows allegations by some residents that their officials are award cards to the unvaccinated persons in exchange for money.
The Regional Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) coordinator, Mr Paul Bediako gave this warning on Health Matters on Sunyani based Ark FM monitored by Soiree News.
But Mr Bediako said it was illegal to issue a covid-19 vaccination card to an unvaccinated person and is punishable by law.
According to him, an individual didn't have to get the card without vaccination since pieces of information are kept on the Health Service’s system.
He also added that there is a special team that is responsible for auditing all COVID-19 and its related programmes to ensure accountability.
He has therefore stressed that the law will deal mercilessly with persons involved in such activities.
“The laws will not hesitate in dealing with culprits found in the act for it is a criminal act’, he warned.
Mr Bediako however called on the general public to report all such acts to the directorate for further actions to be taken
