Ghana’s among WHO’s Best Vaccination Centers - Nkoranza Health Director

Nkoranza Municipal Director of Health, Dr. Emmanuel Akwoulo Agyigewe Teviu says Ghana is among the best country's which has reliable covid-19 vaccines and resources centers which World Health Organization (WHO) has endorsed or approved.

The Nkoranza Municipal Director of Health,  Dr. Emmanuel  Akwoulo Agyigewe Teviu has emphasized that Ghana is among the best country's which has reliable COVID-19 vaccines and resources centers which World Health Organization (WHO) has endorsed or approved.

As a result, the country is lucky to meet appropriate vaccine storage materials which can be stored under negatives forty degrees Celsius or any average weather conditions.

Dr. Teviu said at the presser today that the vaccines have been imported into the country where the injection will start early this March 2021.

He said people began campaigning against new vaccines over superstition months ago therefore vaccination of the covid-19 inoculation is going, to begin with, politicians, Doctors, security personnel, nurses, journalists, and people in high offices of Ghana.

He ended by appealing to the general public to get involved because there are no effects in injecting the vaccine over the false information that been circulated.

The Nkoranza Municipal Director of Health,  Dr. Emmanuel  Akwoulo Agyigewe Teviu has however warned all Covid-19 patients to reserve themselves from non-affected persons since the disease transmits through direct contacts or airborne.

The Information Minister-designate, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah had said the Covid-19 vaccination was going to start on March 2 as the government takes delivery of 600,000 AstraZeneca doses.

He said, “the vaccines are made by the Serum Institute of India (Covishield).”

“This is the first consignment of vaccines acquired through the COVID-19 Vaccine Global Access Facility (COVAX) which Ghana, among 92 countries, has signed unto.

“Covid-19 vaccination will be conducted in phases among segmented populations.

The first batch of vaccines according to the Ministry of Health arrived in Ghana today. Ghana is expected to take out of a total of 2.4 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine licensed to the Serum Institute of India (AZ/SII).
