Trans company limited (TLG), a mining firm with 59.01 Kilometer square equivalent to 281 blocks of concession which span from Kwahu South, Kwahu East, and Birim North Municipalities in the Eastern Region has decried the invasion of its concession by over 300 illegal miners.

The company's fume is causing serious destruction to the environment in most of the communities, such as Apradan, Yakoko, Owusukroma, and Mpeha, however, efforts made to flush them out have not been successful due to the number of the invaders.

The invasion by the illegal miners started when the company was issued a prospecting license and subsequently mining lease.

A petition addressed to the Eastern Regional Minister Seth Kwame Acheampong and copied to the Eastern Regional Police Commander, as well as other stakeholders stated that it has mobilized private security personnel, however, requesting immediate help of the state to clamp down on the illegal miners.

According to TLG Company, it has recently been granted a mining lease of 24 blocks and 32 blocks by the government respectively, however, they are threatened by the activities of the illegal miners (Galamseyers) and called on the minerals commission, Land and Natural Resources ministry as well as all stakeholders to help drive them out of the area, adding that if persuasions fail, the force would be applied.
