Operation No Mercy: 4 Chan fans Burnt, 4 Galamseyers Arrested for Mining in River.
Four illegal miners popularly known as Galamseyers have been arrested by security operatives for mining in River Mamie in Wassa Amenfi East Municipality of the Western Region.
Four (4) Chan fans have also been burnt into ashes by the task force.
The suspects were arrested during “Operation No Mercy” to fight illegal mining in the area.
The operation was initiated by the Municipal Chief Executive, Fredrick Korankye with the support of the local task force.
The operations forcforceo burnt four chan fans which were being used for illegal mining.
The suspects were handed over to the police who would arrange them before the court today, October 19, 2022.
Fredrick Korankye, speaking to the media said, the operation is going to be continued so he’s appealing to the chiefs and the good people of every community for their full support in him to fight against those who are mining on the River bodies.
Finally, he stated that anyone who would be arrested during this operation will face the rigors of the law.
