Ntronang residents Cry Over deplorable roads, threatens to boycott elections

Residents of Ntronang, a community in the Okere District Constituency in the Eastern Region, have called on the government and the District assembly to help fix the deplorable road networks in the area.

They have also threatened to boycott any general elections and other elections should their roads are not fixed with immediate effect.
“We are suffering due to the deplorable nature of our roads. Our pregnant women are dying out of forced labor, sick children always die on the road because it takes hours to be able to take them to the hospital, a resident said.
“Sometimes too, we even fail to access transports because drivers have stopped plying the road and tricycle riders charge huge all because of the deplorable state of our roads.”, another resident narrated.
According to the Residents who spoke randomly to Soiree News, they have presented several petitions to the Okere District Assembly but their efforts have proven futile as the road remained unattended to by the authorities.

They said, “the only road which leads to the community had become a death trap, forcing farmers to abandon their farms, especially during rainy seasons”.
Some drivers who ply the road in an interview with Soiree News said, “the muddy nature of our roads during the rainy season  makes it difficult for us to convey passengers and goods to their destinations.”
They also the current state of dusty nature is making the road unmotorable.

They are therefore calling on the government to fix the road to help ease the burden of the people.

They are also appealing to the Member of Parliament for the area who doubles as the Minister for Regional Reorganization,  Dan Kwaku Bnotwe to also come to their aide.
