According to local media, during a morning drill in Nigeria's southwest Osun State, tear gas canisters shot by anti-riot police caused more than 30 pupils to become unwell and require hospitalization.

Yemisi Opalola, a spokeswoman for the Osun police, expressed regret for the occurrence and promised that the officers will make the "necessary adjustments" to avoid a repeat.
