NIC inaugurates Bono Regional office to enhance good delivery of insurance companies 

The Kontihene of Sunyani, Oboaman Bofotia Boamponsem II has charged the commission to clamp down all non-performing insurance companies and ensure defaulting ones are dealt with to deter others from repeating the same mistakes.

The National Insurance Commission has inaugurated its office in the Bono Regional Capital, Sunyani.

 Addressing the gathering at the inauguration ceremony, the Commissioner of Insurance, Dr Justice Yaw Ofori said, the establishment of its Regional Office in Bono is an accomplishment of a promise made to Ghanaians by his office to ensure accessibility of the commission at all levels. 

He said, even though there were a number of Regions sampled for the office, the Bono Region was on top of its, indicating how much seriousness his outfit attach to the wellbeing of the people of the Region.

 Dr Justice Yaw Ofori called chiefs, stakeholders and people of the Region to create an enabling environment to enable his officers to discharge their duties without borders.

He assured his office’s readiness to ensuring insurance takes a new dimension devoid of fraud and disappointment against clients.

On his part, the Kontihene of the Sunyani Traditional Oboaman Bofotia Boamponsem II representing the Sunyani Manhene Nana Bosoma Assor Nkrawie II charges the National Insurance Commission not to repeat the same errors of the Bank of Ghana which saw the collapse of some banks in the country with clients left to their fate to suffer. 

He wants the commission to clamp down all non-performing insurance companies and ensure defaulting ones are dealt with to deter others from repeating the same mistakes. 

This he believes with help take off the burdens from customers when their agencies in which they have insured collapsed.

 The Kontihene of Sunyani however, urged the commission to ensure staffs with various insurance companies are well paid, which he believes can help minimize fraudulent acts surrounding the operations.
