According to him, the situation is discouraging Ghanaians from Contesting for Assemblymember position in 10 years time.

The president of Bono Chapter of Ghana Association of Assembly members (GAAM) in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region, Honorable Prince Atta Edward has lamented on the overlook of the welfare of assembly members and its possible future consequence.

The Assemblymember for Konadu Yiadom Electoral area at Suma Ahenkro stated that, since the inception of the decentralization and local governance act in the 1992 constitution of Ghana, the various Governments have denied the assembly members on a lot of grounds which has really affected the decentralization of Governance.

 This he said may deter a lot of Ghanaians from Contesting for Assemblymember position in 10 years time.

The Assemblymember for Tulo Electoral area in Sampa in the Jaman North District who also doubles as the treasure for Bono regional Chapter of GAAM, Honorable Okrah Kwaku Andrews stated that there should be fund allocations to Assembly Members for Developmental projects in the various electoral areas.
