The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Hopeful for Lower West Akim Constituency in the Eastern Region, Mr Owen Kwame Frimpong, affectionately called Darling Boy, has congratulated all the students who are currently receiving their 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results within the municipality 

"I want to use this medium to congratulate all the students receiving their 2022 BECE results and my very best wishes for whatever the next chapter in life brings each of you.

"Many thanks also to the parents, teachers, school support staff, friends and classmates who have helped each of these students on their basic education journey," Mr Frimpong stated.

A 48-year-old business mogul who is very passionate about education development of the youth in the municipality indicated his commitment to continue to help to make education through his Darling Boy Foundation in "our municipality to grow more efficiently for our future leaders.

Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com, on Thursday January 26, 2023 ,Mr Frimpong assured readiness to invest heavily in the education of the teeming children in the villages and towns within the the Lower West Akim municipality when elected the next Member of Parliament (MP) for the area on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress.

He expressed his sadly about the falling standard of education in Lower West Akim and minced no words when he stated that he ready to partner the stakeholders in the education sector to address the falling standard of education in the municipality.

He said the performance of their children in the Municipality was not encouraging, hence the need for stakeholders to adopt innovative measures to reverse the trend.

“As citizens, we must be concerned about the state of education in our community  and it is our responsibility to support the government’s drive towards achieving access to quality education for everyone in the Lower West Akim Municipality,” he stated.

He said, “I deem it fit to make education development my priority and it is my duty as a delusional citizen of Lower West Akim Municipality to support the growth of education in my area to help produce productive citizens who will contribute to develop the area and the country in general.”

Mr Frimpong urged sub-chiefs in his area to prioritise education development by regularly visiting schools in their respective communities to monitor and help solve pertinent issues that affected the progress of teaching and learning process in the schools.

While urging the regional education directorate to strengthen their surveillance and monitoring, as well as supervision to curtail teacher lateness and absenteeism in schools, the NDC parliamentary hopeful also advised parents to develop keen interest in their children’s education and provide them with their basic needs.
