NDC Internal Constituency Exes Race: North Tongu NDC  Chairman, C.K Akaho-Tay Optimistic Of Victory!
The incumbent North Tongu Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Volta Region, Mr. Christian Kwadwo Akaho-Tay and his main contender, Mr. David K Ahafia have filed their nomination forms and went through vesting processes to contest the chairmanship position on the ticket of the NDC in the area.
However, Mr. Akaho-Tay stated that he is confident of retaining his post at the forthcoming NDC's internal executives election which was scheduled to off on October 22, 2022 at Togorme.
The NDC stalwart who is seeking re-election, said his campaign was off to a brilliant start, and that he was cautiously upbeat about victory because his truck record as chairman for the past four years was phenomenal and the party’s faithful could attest to it.
Mr. Akaho-Tay whose motto was; "Continuous Accountability, Integrity and Selfless Services to Rescue Ghana from A Better Society," noted that he served the NDC in various capacities over many years.
According to him, the contest was about track record, and some members of the party who were hell-bent on seeing him voted out would be disappointed because the discerning delegates had pledged to give him an overwhelming endorsement in recognition of his sterling leadership, magnanimity, generosity and charisma.
Mr Akaho-Tay was speaking on his chances in an interview with the Soireenews.com in Battor on Friday October 30, 2022 after going through vetting.
The incumbent chairman said he was hopeful and confident of emerging  triumphant and victorious in the yet-to-be-held constituency executives election, and advised delegates of the party to rescind any decision of tilting toward a change of leadership at the polls slated for October 22, 2022.
The chairman underscored the need for party enthusiasts in the constituency to refrain from trading blame.
He also challenged all the contenders to be decorous in their choice of words as they met delegates to ask for their votes, stressing that he had no qualms with the criticisms against him, therefore, any competitor or surrogate could scrutinise his achievements as constituency chairman, without bias and malice.
He further charged the rank and file with the duty to project the party, explaining the major task was the general elections ahead of them, and, there was the urgent need for every dedicated member of the party to work diligently on putting the house in order to help the umbrellas fraternity in its bid to win the political power in the 2024 general elections.
However, the Soireenews.com is in the possession of the list of the various aspirants who have successfully filed to contest various positions in the North Tongu Constituency elections.
