The Akim Swedru Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern held an orientation and capacity building workshop for the party 's executives dubbed: "Building a Strong Party Structure For Victory 2024 and Beyond."

The event which was led by its Chairman Kofi Mintah was to equip partic­ipants who are constituency executives and sub committee members with the requisite skills and knowledge in election monitoring, observation, campaigning and related activities ahead of the 2024 general election.

The event was attended by the top gurus of the NDC including Mr Totobi Quakyi, Former Minister and National Council of Elders Member, Kobby Barlon, Deputy National Organizer, Aku Gunn,Deputy National Communications Officer, Dr Aryee Boi, Technical Officer-National Elections Directorate, Mr Emmanuel Kwakye, Former DCE, Birim South.

Also in attendance were the Eastern Regional Executive led by Dr Mark Oliver Kevor, Regional Chairman, Ransford Boakye, Regional Vice Chairman, Hackman Kabore, Regional Organizer, Kojo Dankwah, Regional Communications Officer, Alhaji Issah,Regional Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Mr Kwaku Kade Boateng, Deputy Regional Secretary, Michael Ofoe, (Deputy Regional Comm. Officer and Richard Obibini (Deputy Regional Treasurer.

The NDC 2024 Parliamentary Candidate Akyem Swedru Constituency, Mr Abdul Taaju Rahim, used the opportunity to assure all and sundry for his preparedness to secure victory for the NDC come December 2024.

He appealed to all sup­porters to unite and work together for the party’s victory in 2024.
According to him, winning the 2024 elections was crucial to the NDC as “Ghanaians are looking forward to the party to restore hope and dignity to the suffering masses and we cannot afford to disappoint them.”

For his part, Akim Swedru Constituency Chairman of the NDC, Kofi Mintah told the participants that the party was built on grassroots participation.
He said that activists at the wards and branches were very important for the party, and there was the need to equip them with the requisite training and tools to monitor the upcoming elections.

He called on all the ward executives to be committed and dedicated to the party, as the NDC thrived on commitment and sacrifice.
He urged the participants to put the knowledge acquired at the workshop into practice, towards the party’s victory in 2024.
He advised all party faithful to register when the Electoral Commission opens registration, to increase the party’s grassroots base and the numbers needed to win a resounding victory.
