Ghanaian TV personality Nana Aba Anamoah and Ghanaian rapper Criss Waddle have come out to speak against the opportunistic attitude of Ghana businesses over the sharp increase in prices of alcohol-based hand sinitisers.

Nana Aba Anamoah took to Instagram with a post to express her opinion, she said "All pharmacies and shops that have increased the prices of sanitizers astronomically are all hell-bound. You sit in your homes and offices and complain when issues of corruption come up. You’re corrupt. You’re evil. You shameless bunch of insensitive people. If your neighbor can't afford it, your chance of infection is higher."

CrIss Waddle also expressed his displeasure about the ongoing exploitation, saying that it is Ghanaians that will kill Ghanaians, instead of ensuring that the spread of the spread of the deadly virus is curbed.
The price hikes are as a result of the information that has been passed across, that people should wash their hands more frequently with hand sanitizers to disinfect their hands from any possible contact with the virus.

It stands to reason therefore that a country that wants to get rid of the virus as quickly as possible should the reduce the prices of the sanitizers so everyone can have access to it as often as possible. This is contrary to the ongoing situation, as businesses have outrageously increased the prices of alcohol based hand sanitizers.

The sudden outbreak of the virus in Ghana initially began with two confirmed infections on 12 March 2020, but now, three days later four other cases have been confirmed leading to widespread panic.

Businnesses are now well poised to take advantages of the situation, instead of helping the country as a whole.
