Appietus is blaming the recent decline in the quality of Ghanaian music on music producers.

He recalled how Ghanaian music producers would take their time to make quality tracks back in the day because they understood the 'quality befor quantity' rule.

Per his words, producers release trash tracks after tracks because they want to make quick cash, a situation he believes should not be so.

According to him, music producers are a vital force in music production and they must step up their games if they hope to increase the quality of tracks in Ghana.

“We used to have very great productions some years ago but what I am hearing lately is nothing to write home about. It looks like music producers are in a hurry to just make money and are not paying attention to all the elements that make a quality song.

"When I listen to songs such as Odo Nnwom which I did for Kofi Nti and Otoolege for Ofori Amponsah, I realize, I'm not hearing such quality productions these days. We are supposed to move forward and not backward, so I am telling every music producer to be up and doing,”

Appietus noted that Nigerians ahead of Ghana when it comes to music production, because Nigerians understand the importance of quality more than Ghanaians.

This, he argued is why the Nigerian industry is making steady progress when compared to all other African industries.

“When it comes to singing or rapping we have some of the finest musicians but our sound engineers need to up their game," he concluded.
