A motorbike rider by the name Baba has been killed by a moving Toyota Fortuner car with registration number GW 977-14 in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region.

The incident which occurred at the main traffic light of JJ Rawlings street saw the vehicle running into the motorbike rider, whilst he await for greenlighting before moving.

The vehicle driver who made an attempt to jump the traffic crashed the motorcyclist to death instantly.

It further hit a Kia truck that was parked beside the traffic light, but the driver went unhurt.

At the time Soireenews got to the accident scene, the motorbike rider was conveyed to the Wa Government hospital morgue.

"The motorbike rider was waiting patiently for the traffic light to show green, the driver of the vehicle driven into him killing him instantly and further pulling his motorbike with his front guard from the junction to the entrance of Goil filling station and again hitting a Kia truck". An eyewitness narrated.

According to him, the driver of the vehicle believed to be in his early 60s was drunk and lost his control at a high speed from Dodoo street.

The driver of the vehicle has since been arrested by the police for investigation.
